Retired in February 2020 after a career spanning nearly 4 decades, of which 25 years in teaching and academics in the Universities of Mumbai & IGNOU, and in education planning & policy for 14 years in the Govt. of India. I joined the Ministry of Education as OSD (New Education Policy), in the Department of Higher Education on invitation. I was privileged to be Secretary to the Committee to Draft National Education Policy and actively contributed to the formulation of the recently unveiled National Education Policy 2020. Also, Nodal Officer of the flagship Govt. of India Scheme of National Mission on Teachers and Teaching (NMTT). Prior to this, OSD (XII Plan) in MoE (on invitation) and Joint Adviser (Education) in Planning Commission (on deputation). I was in teaching and academics during the period 1981-2006.
